Cascade represents a tree growing on a mountain side leaning out towards light. Its own weight plus environmental factors such as the weight of winter snow contributes to the trunk growing downwards.
We have some nice procumbens nana junipers that exhibit downward trunk growth that will make excellent cascade subjects.
The trunks are roughly 3/4″ or larger and all have long cascading branches. They will be potted up in cascade pots this spring.
Students need to supply their own tools and wire, or purchase what is needed during workshop.
