Known in Japan as Mataeda Hasami, these razor sharp tools
are designed for cutting branches flush to the trunk.  The resulting wound can then heal over
quickly with little scarring. 

The Concave Cutter is the single most important tool for
Bonsai use and for which there is no substitute.  The 8 inch versions are considered the basic
size to begin with.  The drop-forged,
ground and tempered construction of this grade of tool is an excellent choice
for the intermediate enthusiast seeking a more economical Concave Cutter.
