Japanese bonsai saws cut on the pull stroke, as opposed to conventional push stroke saws. 

Cutting on the pull stroke prevents the blade from bending, reduces binding, and improves smoothness of the cut. The fine, double-edged teeth on this economical saw are beveled to achieve very smooth cuts. Has wood handle and blade safety lock.
