Our Shohin and Mame Professional Bonsai Soil Mix is specially designed for smaller bonsai containers while maintaining the same premium quality as our standard Professional Bonsai Soil Blend. Each batch is hand-sifted and crafted from imported Japanese materials to provide the perfect balance of aeration, drainage, and moisture retention for small, delicate root systems.

This mix uses the same proven components—Double Line Akadama, Black Fuji rock, and Hyūga pumice—but screened to a finer grain size to suit Shohin (under 8″) and Mame (under 4″) bonsai. The smaller particle size ensures ideal structure and nutrient flow without compacting, promoting healthy roots and steady growth in limited soil volume.
